Colin S. Watson Oration
The executive of FOLA established the Colin S. Watson Oration in 1999 to recognize the outstanding contribution made by the late Colin Stanley Watson to the development of librarianship in Victoria, and to the development of Friends of Libraries movement and library promotion throughout Australia.
Colin Watson was foundation Vice President of FOLA, foundation Regional Librarian of the Dandenong Valley Regional Library Service in Victoria, Vice President of the Australian Library Promotion Council and held numerous other library positions over more than 40 years.
The invitation to give the Oration shall be made to an individual who is deemed to advance the ideals and spirit of Colin's achievements in librarianship.
